Looking to make a career switch to the exciting world of tech? Our Company-Led Training (CLT) Programme helps you unlock new career pathways in the tech industry! Through CLT, which combines instructor-led coaching with on-the-job training, trainees can sharpen their tech skills and gain industry exposure and access to experienced mentors. For Alfred Ang and Christopher Tan, making a mid-career switch into tech was less daunting through CLT. Alfred joined the Visa Technology Traineeship Programme where he strengthened his coding capabilities and technical skills through a structured training programme, coupled with on-the-job training. For Christopher, the COVID pandemic pushed him to pivot from a 15-year-long optometrist career to being a tech professional. Taking this leap helped to widen his career prospects, and allowed him to explore a tech role through training at Temus, while maintaining a stable income. Curious about their journeys and how CLT can change your career path? Find out more: https://lnkd.in/g_wScq8D #LifeInTechnicolour #IMDA #IMDigitalArchitect

With cloud technology forming the backbone for emerging digital technologies, we're racing ahead to ensure that our enterprises can harness AI to transform and stay ahead through strengthened collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This was announced by Senior Minister of State, Mr Kiat How Tan at the 10th Amazon Web Services ASEAN Summit held yesterday. Through this collaboration, local companies will receive help to better understand GenAI as they innovate, develop and deploy customised GenAI digital solutions for their unique business needs. By deepening their in-house capabilities and competencies, they can leverage GenAI to improve productivity, create new products and enter new markets, driving business growth. Local talent will also be able to build industry-relevant competencies, as AWS furthers their partnership with ITE to incorporate AI education into their curriculum, in line with IMDA’S TechSkills Accelerator (TeSA) for ITE and Polytechnics Alliance (TIP Alliance) effort. #Didyouknow that the online movie you just watched likely travelled across the seas and oceans’ floor before reaching you? In fact, over 95% of international digital traffic is carried by undersea submarine fibre optic cables around the world. As one of the world’s key submarine cable hubs, Singapore is where many international submarine cables land. This is also why we can enjoy great digital connectivity and our businesses can transact at breakneck speeds. Earlier this week, we welcomed ICPC | International Cable Protection Committee, the leading international submarine cable industry organisation, to Singapore for their annual ICPC Plenary. Over 200 professionals across private and public sectors from around the world shared best practices and exchanged ideas on policy, legislation and technical developments to promote the safeguarding and resilience of submarine cables. As part of the event, IMDA Deputy Chief Executive Aileen Chia gave an address at the Plenary and participated in a closed-door ICPC-CIL (NUS Center for International Law) panel discussion, where she shared how Singapore is doubling its submarine cable landings as part of our Digital Connectivity Blueprint to boost our digital connectivity to the rest of the world. She also highlighted how we work with the industry and regional governments to improve best practices in facilitating cable repairs. These efforts will support global digital data flows and enhance Singapore’s role as a resilient digital hub, as we continue to architect a shared digital future for all. #IMDA #IMDigitalArchitect

Congratulations to our Singaporean filmmaking talents who are shining bright at the prestigious 77th Festival de Cannes, including Singaporean producer Weijie Lai who co-produced feature film "Viet and Nam" and Wei Liang Chiang who directed feature film "Mongrel". Two other Singaporean-directed short films, "Withered Blossoms" by Lionel Seah and "Cold Cut" by Siyou Tan will also be competing in the La Cinef section and screening under Directors' Fortnight respectively. "Viet and Nam", which was awarded the Southeast Asia Co-Production grant under IMDA's Media Talent Progression Programme (MTPP), is in the running for the Un Certain Regard selection. This is a first for both Singaporean producer Weijie Lai and Director Truong Minh Quy. The film was also recently picked up for distribution by Pyramide International, one of France’s biggest independent film distributors. "Mongrel", a recipient of the New SG Director grant under IMDA’s MTPP, is director-writer Chiang Wei Liang's first feature film, selected for screening at Directors’ Fortnight and eligible for Camera d’Or – an award for the best first feature film. The co-production between Singapore, Taiwan and France was also recently picked up for distribution by Paris-based independent sales company, Alpha Violet. IMDA SG Digital Scholarship alumni Weijie and Wei Liang are set to showcase their stories on the world stage. Join us in showing our support as they compete globally! Announced as part of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s visit to Singapore, IMDA signed 2 Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with New Zealand that will see both countries strengthen cooperation to make trade for our businesses safer, faster and more cost-effective. The MOA on Cooperation for Electronic Invoicing signed with New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment aims to promote the adoption of e-invoicing in both cross-border and domestic transactions via the Peppol network (InvoiceNow in Singapore), as well as facilitate knowledge sharing for future e-invoicing innovations. IMDA and Ministry of Finance, Singapore Customs also signed an MOA on Facilitating Safe and Efficient Trade with New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS). This will enable both countries to digitalise cross-border trade documents through IMDA's TradeTrust framework. These efforts will enable our businesses to leverage digital technologies for new business opportunities, as we architect a digital future for all. #DigiTies #IMDA #IMDigitalArchitect
