This year, we celebrated A11y week in conjunction with Global Accessibility Awareness Day. Over 150 public officers, industry players, and citizens gathered with us to advance digital inclusion for public good through engaging talks and interactive workshops. During the event, GovTech launched a new Co-Creation Lab to kick-start conversations on how we can make Singapore’s digital services more accessible and inclusive. The Co-Creation Lab brings together users from persons with disabilities and senior communities and digital product teams from both the public and private sectors – spanning banking, e-commerce, healthcare, and transportation industries. The Co-Creation Lab exemplifies the Government’s commitment and collaborative approach to designing accessible and inclusive digital products and services. Our Guest-of-Honour, Minister Josephine Teo, also spoke about reviewing the Digital Service Standards as part of the journey towards enhancing digital inclusion. Reflecting on Industry Engagement 2024 yesterday — it was a powerhouse of ideas and connections! This year, we renamed GovTech's annual event from "Industry Briefing" to "Industry Engagement" to reflect our ambitions to have closer dialogue and enhance collaborations with the industry. For the first time, we also organised closed-door discussions with the industry on various topics including soliciting feedback on compliance and procurement regulations, and the Government's broader digital government strategy. The Government will spend up to an estimated $3.3 billion on info-communications technology (ICT) procurement this year, to meet changing demands in delivering technology for the public good. The investment will go towards modernising ICT infrastructure to meet evolving cybersecurity challenges and to maintain public trust. In response to industry feedback. the Government is also trialling streamlined compliance and procurement frameworks to improve the delivery quality when working with the industry. The growing potential of AI has created a demand for more efficient ways to develop and deploy AI applications. From a tool to automatically classify job postings to a product that can extract insights from large volumes of documents for sensemaking, these are some ways Ministry of Manpower has used AI to improve efficiency and innovation. Both AI solutions were made possible by harnessing GovTech’s centralised solutions, Analytics.gov (https://lnkd.in/dyMXHPTS) and CStack (https://lnkd.in/d7AW9ZDw). From 15 June, SportsSG will launch a refreshed booking platform for its sports facilities, MyActiveSG+. The platform has been upgraded to ensure easier and fairer access to booking public sports facilities and programmes, and for the agency to better combat bots and multiple accounts. Users can also expect new features to be progressively rolled out, such as “family accounts” and refunds and cancellations. These new features were developed based on the valuable feedback from the users of SportSG’s membership management system and the recently piloted ActiveSG Beta. We are proud of our GovTechies from the Services and Government Digital Services teams who supported the rollout of MyActiveSG+. Taking time to find a school for your child can be stressful amidst the busy day-to-day. We’re glad to support parents in their parenting journey by making the preschool search and enrolment process simple and convenient. When enrolling your child in preschool, parents have various considerations such as the proximity to home and work, school fees, vacancies, and food and transport options. Parents will be able to filter their search across 1,900 ECDA-registered preschools with the “Search for preschools” feature in LifeSG app. Another feature parents can look forward to is the streamlined application process for subsidies.
