A quick update for URS, we are delighted to welcome our new partners in Greece headed by John Spanoudakis. They have recently held their launch meeting and we wish them every success in their endeavours. On the 27th February 2024, UKAS published a Technical Bulletin on climate change requirements for Management System Standards which can be found here https://lnkd.in/e275DQVQ Such standards as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001 have been amended. The amendments have not changed the requirements of clause 4.1 and 4.2, rather they have added an assurance that climate change is considered for the management system. It is for this reason a full transition programme is not needed.

To all concerned, with the release of AS 9104-001:2022 URS have been in the process of transitioning to this new standard. However, at this point in time the transition has been suspended by IAQG for all CAB's. Once the suspension has been lifted URS will communicate the next steps required as well as the due dates. On the 12th to the 15th of September the URS Local Office conference took place in Vilamoura, Portugal. The conference was well attended and covered such topics as; scheme transitions, new schemes being developed by URS for our clients around the world in addition to process changes, updates to systems and general business strategies. Thanks to all who attended.

The transition is underway for ISO 22003 at URS, please note the following summary of the main differences between ISO 22003:2013 and ISO 22003-1:2022: New HACCP Study definition Changes/additions to Clause 8: Expanding guidance on the use of the marks Changes/additions to Clause 9: Audit duration requirements Requirements for defining scope of certification Multi-site sampling – for 20 sites or less we cannot sample site. All sites must be audited every year. Unannounced audits are possible. However, we will not be enacting this Changes to subcategories and clusters Addition of BIII - Pre-processing handling of plant products Addition of C0 - Animal Primary conversion Separation of clusters for categories H, I and J Removal of subcategories D and G Inclusion of references to multi-site and integrated management systems Adjustment to the minimum onsite audit days & FTE considerations Changes to audit time calculations Whilst the transition is currently for URS, there will be a need for a few additional questions during the next planned audit of our clients.

A quick update on new standards that URS are now offering; the first is EN-ISO 18295-1 Customer Contact Centres: requirements for customer contact centres (CCC). This standard specifies the requirements for CCC which are either in-house or managed by an outsourcer. In particular it deals with certain aspects of products and services which remain the responsibility of the client organisation, rather than the CCC. The second is UNE-ISO 31000 Risk Management, this standard set's out the guidelines on managing risk as an organisation using a common approach in managing any type of risk regardless of the size, sector or the level of decision making within the organisation. #customerrelations #riskmanagement

A quick update from URS, we now offer the scheme MS 1900:2014 - Shariah-based Quality Management System which aims to enhance the efficiency of an organisation consistent with Islamic principles. The standard therefore requires the organisation to identify Shariah critical control points through their processes, these processes will be guided by the principles of halal, haram and muamalat (transactions) Further to the post a few weeks ago URS now offer the sub scheme ISO 27017 - Security techniques - Code of practice for information security controls based on ISO/IEC 27002 for cloud services, which gives guidance for cloud service providers and cloud service customers. In order to achieve certification a 27001 certificate must already be awarded. #management #informationsecurity

The transition for 27001 is underway at URS, please note the following on how this could affect you as a client: With the transition underway existing clients in order to transition to the new version of 27001, there will be a need to have a minimum additional 0.5 day for the transition audit when it is carried out in conjunction with a recertification audit. Alternatively, should a client wish to transition in conjunction with a surveillance or separate audit a minimum additional 1.0 day is required. In order for the additional audit activity to be successful we require that each client undertakes a GAP analysis between the current and the new version of the standard which the auditor shall utilise during the activity to facilitate the audit. Through this GAP analysis it may become apparent that modifications are needed to the ISMS certified by URS, this includes the implementation and effectiveness of the new or modified information security controls. The transition will also ensure that the statement of applicability is updated to comply with the new version of the standard as well as the update to the risk treatment plan. Any findings raised during this additional audit shall be recorded as PNCs (Potential Non-Conformities) and OFIs (Opportunity for Improvement) and corrective actions will be required to be sent to your local office, once closed then your new certificate to the new standard will be generated. Please communicate in writing either through letter, email or other means when you are ready to proceed with the transition audit to your local office. Important dates: · 1st May 2024 onwards - URS will only be conducting all Initial and Recertification Audits to the 2022 standard. However, Surveillance Audits can continue to the 2013 version of the standard. · 31st October 2025 - ISO 27001: 2013 will cease to exist and all registrations to the 2013 version of the standard will expire and be withdrawn.
